National Sales Director- Woodbridge, VA

Job Summary:

This position supports the efforts of the Sales and Marketing Department by building representative and partner networks, researching and analyzing the US plastics sales market; identifying and generating business opportunities; developing quotes, delivering proposals, organize and represent company at trade shows and conferences, train rep force and partners, manager internal and regional sales personnel and all activities related to the promotion and sales of auxiliary material handling systems  to exceed targeted revenue goals.

 

 Role and Responsibilities

Existing core functions Sales and Marketing

  •          Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program;

  •          Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, and advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning             sales and advertising techniques;

  •          Assigns sales territory to sales personnel;

  •          Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist dealers in promoting sales;

  •          Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales                         campaigns to accommodate goals of company;

  •          Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line;

  •          Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product;

  •          Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units;

  •          Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements;

  •          Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications;

  •          Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales;

  •          Directs product research and development;

  •          Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work;

  •          Meets budget projections

 

Proposed Functions Sales Director

         Prioritize opportunities and balance sales pipeline with production capacity;

         Establish & monitor sales goals of Regional Sales Managers;

         Travels to field in pursuit of sales efforts

         Develop sales / pricing strategies with Regional Sales Managers and customer solutions for projects;

         Develop vendor partner relationships ;

         Insures product bulletins and brochures and documentation is relevant, current and available

         Prepare and present reports on sales progress for meetings; Attract, generate, manage, record and convert leads from inbound telephone,                trade show and website activity;

         Attend trade shows, on occasion, to generate new leads;

         Plan and run sales meetings;

         Develop and manage sales compensation in sync with sales volume and company performance;

         Develop sales budget, approve and monitor all sales related expenses;

         Create and give presentations for appropriate public relations opportunities;

         Drive marketing programs using traditional and web based approaches;

         Lead and develop new product introductions to ensure early stocking position and programs to ensure rapid sell through to end customers;

         Successfully coordinate UNA-DYN participation in National Sales Meetings;

         Engage internally in executive level growth discussions, strategic planning sessions, and operational reviews.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in business and eight plus years of professional sales/technical experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a broad knowledge of technical sales.

Basic proficiency required: SAP 

 

Intermediate proficiency required:

Ability to understand and explain engineered technical products and systems. Proven results in disciplined pipeline management producing accurate forecast and exceeding quota targets.

 

Expert proficiency required:

Knowledge of principles and methods involved in showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, negotiation, persuasion, product demonstration and sales techniques, and sales control systems, and technical selling techniques.

 

NOTE: The preference is that this person be based out of Woodbridge, VA or surrounding areas (Relocation offered) but, will consider candidates within 8 hours of this location.
